The Road to WrestleMania continues to take shape.
After Survivor Series: WarGames on November 29, all signs suggested that Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns were once again on a collision course for the WWE Championship.
While many fans expect the pair to share the spotlight in the main event of WrestleMania 42, Dave Meltzer has suggested within the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that this may not necessarily be the case, although a title match between them is still planned. Meltzer also noted that there remains a possibility of Seth Rollins returning to the ring in time for the event, although it is currently too early to say for certain.
“It’s been confirmed to us that a Rhodes vs. Reigns match for the WWE title is in the plans, although not necessarily at WrestleMania. Rollins vs. Breakker, Reigns vs. Punk and Rhodes against someone else could be done. Or Rollins vs. Breakker. Rollins has talked about wanting to wrestle at Mania. We’ve been told this week that it is a possibility but it’s too early to determine if it can happen.”

Reigns and Rhodes, along with CM Punk and The Usos, fell short to Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Logan Paul, Drew McIntyre, and Brock Lesnar inside WarGames at Survivor Series.
Seth Rollins, meanwhile, is currently sidelined for an extended period after suffering a shoulder injury during his match with Cody Rhodes at WWE Crown Jewel: Perth in October. Following successful shoulder surgery, Rollins recently revealed that his recovery is progressing well. You can read more about that here.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on plans for WrestleMania 42 as soon as we hear more.
