Tommaso Ciampa is reportedly on his way out of WWE.
In recent weeks, Tommaso Ciampa has been seen circling the United States Championship on SmackDown. After weeks of confronting then champion Ilja Dragunov, the pair stole the show on the December 12 edition of the Friday night show, though the former Tag Team Champion wasn’t able to walk away with the gold. Alongside Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae, Ciampa felt commonplace on the blue brand across 2025, however it now appears as if he’ll soon be moving on.
In an update published on BodySlam’s patreon, it’s believed that Tommaso Ciampa is planning on departing WWE when his contract comes up, with it unclear what his next move will be.
“Tommaso Ciampa’s contract is coming up and he plans on finishing his time up with WWE without a renewal. It’s unclear if Ciampa chose to not sign a new deal and is planning on going elsewhere or is wanting to take time off without a deal.”

Signing with WWE in 2016 after appearing in the previoys year’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, Ciampa has spent almost a decade with the company as of the time of writing. He was a cornerstone of NXT’s ‘Black and Gold’ era including two memorable stints as NXT Champion. More recently, he and Johnny Gargano captured the WWE Tag Team Championships twice across 2024 and 2025.
With little update on what his next move will be, the story is one to keep an eye on in the coming weeks.
As always, aim to provide any further updates on Tommaso Ciampa’s future as soon as we hear more.
