Welcome to the 2025 WrestlePurists Awards, our annual tradition where we celebrate the very best of the last 12 months of professional wrestling. This year marks our fourth set of awards as we combine the opinions of fans and input from wrestling media outlets to recognise those who stood out in 2025.
How Are The Winners Decided?
The nomination process began with a series of tweets inviting our followers and the wider wrestling community to submit names in the replies. The most frequently suggested names were taken into consideration by members of the WrestlePurists team who formed the final shortlist of nominees.
From there, we conducted polls where fans could vote for their top choice in each category. Also, we reached out to members of wrestling media, with their votes combined with the general polls to determine the overall winners. However, while the majority of awards only display the combined result, the Wrestler of the Year award will be split into the fans’ pick, media pick, and the overall winner to give further insight into how the voting panned out. It’s important to note that voting officially closed on January 29.
