A major singles match looks to be on the cards for WrestleMania 42.
Since suffering a shoulder injury that required surgery in his match with Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel: Perth on October 11, Seth Rollins has maintained that his return timeline is unclear. However, there is now a major update on his status as plans for this year’s WrestleMania begin to take shape.
Dave Meltzer has noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE believes Rollins will be ready to return to the ring ahead of WrestleMania 42, with a singles match against Bron Breakker pencilled in for the event.
“Right now, the belief is Rollins will be ready for Mania and face Breakker in a singles match. — That match has been confirmed to be on the schedule for the show.”

Bron Breakker was attacked by a masked assailant during his entrance at the Royal Rumble on January 31, leading to his immediate elimination. The attacker delivered a Curb Stomp to The Vision’s leader, fuelling the idea that Rollins is seeking payback on his former stablemate for putting him on the shelf in kayfabe.
Roman Reigns ultimately won the men’s Royal Rumble match and made it clear on this week’s edition of Monday Night RAW that he intends to challenge CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Elsewhere in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer outlined the original plans for WrestleMania 42’s two main event matches and the decisions that ultimately led to those plans changing. You can read more about that here.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the WrestleMania 42 card as soon as we hear more, and we continue to wish Seth Rollins all the best in his recovery.
