Seth Rollins Reveals He Turned Down An Offer From TNA Which Was ‘At Least Triple The Money’ When WWE Showed Interest

Seth Rollins turned down TNA when WWE became interested.
Putting the main roster on notice as part of The Shield in 2012, Seth Rollins was immediately presented as a major threat when he arrived on the scene at Survivor Series. From there, he’s gone on to amass six world championships as of the time of writing, and has cemented himself as one of the biggest names in WWE today. However, Rollins has now revealed his career almost took an entirely different path.
Appearing on Club Shay Shay, Rollins revealed that he had an offer from TNA which he was close to signing until WWE showed interest in him at the eleventh hour.
“I was trying to shop myself to some of the other smaller companies at the time, and I wasn’t getting any call back from WWE. Nobody was picking up, nobody was answering emails. I had a deal on the table for another company with TNA. And I was like, ‘You know what? I don’t want to sign this deal. WWE is where I want to be.’ So I made one final call and I said, ‘Look, I’m going to sign this deal with TNA if I don’t hear back from you. I’m going to sign it in the morning.’ 15 minutes later, [John Laurinaitis] calls me back. ‘Hey, kid, let me talk to my people.’ He didn’t tell me nothing yet. He didn’t give me any indication. He said, ‘We’ll call you back in the morning.’ I’m waiting. I couldn’t sleep that night. I was just like, ‘Come on.’ Because it could have just been easy. Come back and he just say, ‘Ah, never mind.’ And then when he called back, he’s like, ‘We’re going to give you an opportunity.’ I remember where I was standing. I remember where I was looking. I remember everything. I didn’t give it damn how much the money was for. I didn’t care. That’s all I ever wanted was an opportunity. This is the biggest wrestling company in the world. This is my dream. This is all I ever wanted. I do not even care. I turned down probably at least triple the money to go to the other place. This is where I can make my way.”

Rollins, under the name Tyler Black, made a name for himself while working for Ring Of Honor from 2007 until he was signed by WWE in 2010. While with ROH, he became World Tag Team Champion twice, alongside Jimmy Jacobs, and had a memorable 210-day reign as ROH World Champion. While he was able to become one of WWE’s high-profile names, many fans will now be wondering what might’ve happened if the company hadn’t been willing to offer an opportunity, instead leading Tyler Black to TNA.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Seth Rollins as soon as we hear more.
