Rhea Ripley’s team with IYO SKY may be on the back burner after WWE Elimination Chamber.

Over the last few months, a major highlight of WWE TV has been the partnership between Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY. The pair are two of the biggest stars in the company regardless of gender or division, and their momentum as a duo saw them capture the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships from The Kabuki Warriors on January 5. However, after Ripley’s win in the women’s Elimination Chamber match, it seems the popular tag team may have to be put on ice as she chases the WWE Women’s Championship.

Speaking on the Elimination Chamber Recap, Ripley said it’ll feel weird to not team with IYO SKY going forward. Thankfully for fans of the team, ‘The Eradicator’ confirmed they’ll still have each other’s back.

“The tag team stuff might have to be put on hold for a little bit, but whatever she’s doing, I’m still gonna be there for her and vice versa. It’s kind of sad to think about because I feel like Iyo’s been in my life here in the WWE over the past year and a half. We’ve been pretty much inseparable, whether we’ve been facing each other or we’ve been tagging together, — It’s gonna be weird. It’s gonna be very, very weird. I can’t tell exactly what’s gonna happen, but if she ever needs me, I’m gonna be there. And vice versa, I know she’s got my back through thick and thin.”

Ripley and SKY lost the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships to Lash Legend and Nia Jax on the February 27 edition of SmackDown, bringing their reign to a close after just 53 days. The next night, Ripley emerged from the women’s Chamber match victorious, setting up a mammoth clash with WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill at WrestleMania 42. With her last world title run ending at the hands of IYO last year, the Australian star is now eyeing up her fourth world title when the ‘Show Of Shows’ returns to Las Vegas.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY as soon as we hear more.
