David Finlay Signs With AEW, Was Reportedly Offered WWE NXT Deal

WWE reportedly wanted David Finlay to start in NXT.

Last night’s edition of AEW Dynamite saw David Finlay reunite with Gabe Kidd and Clark Connors following their match with Darby Allin and Orange Cassidy, with the promotion later confirming that the trio are officially ‘All Elite’. WWE were reportedly interested in the former New Japan Pro-Wrestling star, though we now have more on his decision to join All Elite Wrestling.

According to an update from Bodyslam, it’s believed WWE offered David Finlay a deal that would have seen him start in WWE NXT, with the company reportedly unwilling to budge on their proposal.

“David Finlay was offered a deal to begin in NXT and they wouldn’t budge on their offer. As a result, Finlay ended up picking AEW.”
