Nia Jax got emotional when Lash Legend picked up her first title in WWE.

On this past Friday’s edition of SmackDown, Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY lost the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships to Lash Legend and Nia Jax. To the surprise of many, Legend pinned multi-time world champion Ripley to secure the win just four months after debuting on the blue brand. With ‘The Boujee Bully’ now with WWE gold around her waist for the first time, her tag team partner has discussed what it was like to see Lash become a champion.

Speaking with Beyond The Bell, Nia Jax revealed discussing getting emotional when Lash Legend picked up the win.

“We’re the badasses. We’re the heels. We’re. the jerks. We’re supposed to stay in this stoic era, but I got super emotional… I’m watching Lash win the Tag Titles. Her first ever title in the WWE. I started to get emotional and I’m like, ‘Hold it together. Keep it together. You’re supposed to be a badass.’ To see the look on her face hearing the 1-2-3 and then bringing us the titles, it was such a beautiful moment. I’m definitely never gonna forget that.”

Legend is someone who was first brought to our screens as part of the introduction of NXT 2.0. At the time of her debut in 2021, she’d been under contract with WWE for less than a year having previously played in the WNBA for the Seattle Storm. The 28-year-old is one of the most athletically gifted members of the roster, with her star continuing to rise following her recent title win.

Jax and Legend have been associated with one another since the build to Survivor Series in San Diego. The pair were part of the losing team inside War Games, but their alliance has since become a key part of SmackDown and many are looking forward to seeing how their reign as WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions plays out.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Lash Legend and Nia Jax as soon as we hear more.
