Cody Rhodes feels WrestleMania 42 can be the best bell-to-bell version of the event in WWE history.

Back on February 27, Cody Rhodes sat down with Brandon Walker of Mostly Sports for an interview, during which he claimed that we could be in for a “sleeper WrestleMania” in Las Vegas across April 18 and 19 at Allegiant Stadium.

Appearing on Complex Graps The Podcast, Cody Rhodes clarified his comments and claimed that he feels this year’s WrestleMania 42 could be the best version of the show from an in-ring standpoint of all time.

“I said something that I don’t love how it came out. I said, ‘I think we’re sitting on a sleeper Mania.’ I said this like a month ago. What I meant was because a ten year Mania like 40, you feel this sense of destiny. There is something about that ten year moment. This year, the matches, we have our main event with CM Punk and Roman Reigns, and now we just got to myself versus Randy Orton as the other main event. The matches that are coming together, Stephanie and Liv, what clearly looks like Jacob [Fatu] might be doing. You talked about Sami [Zayn]. I think you’re looking at a bell-to-bell Mania that’s the best it’s been. Bell-to-bell wrestling, good, the type of stuff I grew up on, — Bell-to-bell, I think they’re gonna get one of the better Manias, if not the best Mania of all time.”

Last week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown saw Cody Rhodes defeat Drew McIntyre to recapture the WWE Championship, with “The American Nightmare” now set to defend the title against Randy Orton, the winner of the Royal Rumble.

Regarding the remainder of the WrestleMania 42 card, reports earlier today claimed that sources within WWE expect Oba Femi to answer Brock Lesnar’s open challenge at the show. You can read more about that here.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on WWE’s WrestleMania 42 plans as soon as we hear more.
