Gzim Selmani Claims Wyatt Sicks Incident Led To His WWE Release

The former Rezar opens up on the reason behind his WWE departure.

On February 7, 2025, both members of Authors of Pain and their manager Paul Ellering were released from their WWE contracts, bringing an end to Akam and Rezar’s second spell with the promotion.

Appearing on The Ariel Helwani Show, Gzim Selmani, formerly known as Rezar, claimed that a legitimate altercation involving an unnamed member of the Wyatt Sicks led to the Authors of Pain’s release.

“There was an incident. Very unprofessional from one of those guys. I don’t know their names and don’t want to go into it too deeply, but there was an incident at one of the Holiday tours that we did. Somebody tried to switch up the match during the match, and that’s just a no go for me, especially if you’ve just been in the company for a little bit, and we were already there for a long time. You don’t do that. I just had to let somebody know, and that was the end of it. They tried to switch up the match in the middle of the match. I’m a professional. Even if I got to take a beating in a wrestling ring, I’ll do it. And if you’re gonna be a scared little b*tch, it’s not my fault. I will let you know backstage. [The switch] was certain moves we did, certain guys didn’t want to take it because we’re big guys. So if we lift you up and double Spinebuster somebody five nights in a row, the sixth night somebody can complain, but don’t change it during the match.”

-Gzim Selmani

Gzim Selmani made his bare-knuckle boxing debut at BKFC Fight Night 34 on March 14, defeating Daniel Curtin by knockout in the second round. Following the bout, Selmani acknowledged his WWE career and made it clear that he was there to stay in BKFC.

The Wyatt Sicks, meanwhile, currently find themselves chasing the WWE Tag Team Championship and Uncle Howdy’s lantern, with Solo Sikoa and the MFTs currently in possession of both.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Gzim Selmani’s WWE exit and his future in BKFC as soon as we hear more.
