Ronda Rousey’s AEW Revolution Appearance Reportedly ‘Fit Into Her Vendetta Against TKO’

More has emerged regarding Ronda Rousey’s surprise AEW appearance.
At this past weekend’s AEW Revolution, fans were shocked when Ronda Rousey entered the ring to confront Toni Storm after ‘The Timeless One’ had defeated Marina Shafir. While the 39-year-old’s first appearance on a major wrestling event in over two years is noteworthy in itself, many were particularly surprised given ‘The Baddest Woman On The Planet’ is just a few months away from her MMA return. Now, an update has emerged indicating a possible reason behind her surprise AEW arrival.
According to an update from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it’s believed a source close to Rousey disclosed that her appearance for AEW ‘fit into her vendetta against TKO’ stemming from failed negotiations over her return fight.
“One person close to the situation did say that this did fit into Rousey’s vendetta against TKO for negotiating with her for more than one year for the Carano fight and then in the end, when it didn’t happen on PPV, essentially changing the compensation, figuring they had nowhere else to go.”

Prior to the announcement of Rousey’s return fight coming for Most Valuable Promotions on May 16, the former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion had held talks with Dana White over her comeback being for his company. However, with the fight being pushed back until after the UFC’s deal to leave ESPN for Paramount had kicked in, Rousey was set to miss out on an increased percentage of the buys generated by the pay-per-view model, leading her to look elsewhere.
As yet, it’s unclear whether Ronda Rousey is set to wrestle for AEW following her appearance at Revolution. While it looked as if she was setting up a possible future clash with Toni Storm, it’s been reported that the four-time former Women’s World Champion is expected to be out of action for the rest of the year. You can read more about that here.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Ronda Rousey’s surprise AEW Revolution appearance as soon as we hear more.
