Thunder Rosa has revealed what WWE offered her to work as a referee in 2019.

AEW’s Thunder Rosa has previously revealed that WWE once offered her a contract as a referee, although further details regarding the offer had remained unclear until now.

Appearing on The Cruz Show for Real 92.3 LA, Thunder Rosa revealed that she was initially offered a $60,000 contract in 2019 to become a referee with WWE.

“In 2019, [WWE] called me and they were like, ‘Are you ready to hang up the boots?’ I was like, ‘Well…’ I needed money. I needed steady money because, brother, being an independent professional wrestler, when you’re talking about hustle, it’s a hustle… I was hustling all the time and I was tired. After like seven years, you’re like, ‘Man, I need a job or something.’ They offered me, like, $60,000 a year. Which at the time it was like, alright, it’s better than what I was making. There was a hurricane that happened and then they just keep pushing my tryout and it never happened, but it was meant to be that way.”

Rosa would ultimately remain active as an in-ring competitor and officially joined All Elite Wrestling in July 2021, having previously appeared for the promotion since August 2020.

The former AEW Women’s World Championship holder Thunder Rosa made her return to All Elite Wrestling TV on February 18, 2026 after taking time away from the ring to deal with an undisclosed injury following AEW All In: Texas in July of last year.
