Ronda Rousey Admits Her AEW Appearance Was A ‘F*ck You’ To TKO

Ronda Rousey’s AEW Revolution appearance sent a message to TKO.
On March 15 at AEW Revolution, Ronda Rousey made a shocking return to professional wrestling, confronting Toni Storm following her victory over her long-time friend Marina Shafir.
Addressing her AEW Revolution appearance during a recent YouTube vlog, Ronda Rousey admitted that the moment was somewhat of a “f*ck you” towards TKO Group Holdings.
“I asked [Marina Shafir] and I was like, ‘Hey, are you gonna be doing any shows while I’m on the way up to the fight so that maybe I could do a run-in or something to help you out and put over the fight?’ And she was like, ‘Actually, I’m gonna be at Staples [Center] doing my first ever pay-per-view match, — It’s kind of a cool little bit of a f*ck you to the TKO Group. Which is kind of funny because WWE is on Netflix, but I kind of figured it’d be easier to ask for forgiveness instead of permission on this one. Like, I’m promoting your show. It’s fine. We didn’t advertise it. It’s not like we boosted the ratings of it, so it should be fine.”

Ronda Rousey has been critical of WWE since her departure from the promotion in late 2023 and has additionally taken several shots at her former mixed martial arts home Ultimate Fighting Championship, both of which now fall under the TKO banner.
Despite her appearance at AEW Revolution, Ronda Rousey is reportedly not expected back in All Elite Wrestling anytime soon, with her appearance instead said to have simply come down to her being in the area at the time. You can read more about that here.
Beyond her involvement professional wrestling, Ronda Rousey is set to make her return to mixed martial arts on May 16, taking on Gina Carano at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles. The bout will be promoted by Most Valuable Promotions and streamed live on Netflix.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on any plans for Ronda Rousey’s future involvement with AEW as soon as we hear more.
