WWE Reportedly Made John Cena WrestleMania Host To Boost Ticket Sales

John Cena’s return to WWE is designed to boost WrestleMania ticket sales.
Earlier today, John Cena officially revealed that he will serve as the host of WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas, marking his return to WWE following his retirement at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13 last year.
Following the announcement, Fightful Select are now reporting that the decision for John Cena to host this year’s WrestleMania 42 was driven by WWE’s desire to boost ticket sales for the event.
“Sources told us that the move was made in order to help boost ticket sales and will be promoted heavily this week on WWE TV as one would expect.”

In last week’s edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer stated that ticket sales for WrestleMania 42 stood at 39,866 and 41,330 for Night One and Night Two respectively, which is 13.3% behind last year’s show.
WrestleMania 42 is set to take place across April 18 and 19 at Allegiant Stadium, with CM Punk, Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, Brock Lesnar, Rhea Ripley, Liv Morgan and more all set to be in action.
