Jacob Fatu feels he missed out on opportunities in WWE during his recent absence.

On the October 17 edition of SmackDown, Jacob Fatu was seen taken out backstage, with it later emerging via PWInsider Elite that Fatu was recovering from a dental procedure. ‘The Samoan Werewolf’ was off our screens for 12 weeks, re-emerging to interfere in the steel cage match which saw Drew McIntyre become Undisputed WWE Champion on January 9. Now, Fatu has discussed how his absence may have cost him opportunities.

Speaking to CBS Sports, Fatu said he likely missed out on a lot of opportunities while absent from WWE.

“I probably missed out on a lot of opportunities, but it is what it is. They say in this business, ‘Things happen, and the show must go on.’ I missed out, but what was I going to do? I couldn’t sit there and dwell. No, none of that.”

After returning during Drew McIntyre vs. Cody Rhodes, it was rumoured that Fatu could’ve been in line to feature in the Undisputed WWE Championship match at WrestleMania. However, after the Scotsman lost the title back to Rhodes in March, it was official that ‘The American Nightmare’ would defend the gold against Elimination Chamber winner Randy Orton at the ‘Show Of Shows’.

Instead, Fatu and McIntyre are set to culminate their feud away from the title. The pair will clash in an unsanctioned match at WrestleMania 42, with their rivalry stemming back to the former Bloodline member being written off TV back in October.

Speaking of Fatu’s WrestleMania opponent, Drew McIntyre recently revealed whether he feels creatively fulfilled in WWE. You can read more about that here.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Jacob Fatu as soon as we hear more.
