Mike Santana Reflects On His Last Two Years Since Returning To TNA

Mike Santana says his return to TNA has been a wild ride.
In March 2024, Mike Santana left AEW after feeling as though his career wasn’t progressing as he’d hoped, and it wasn’t long before he made his next move. Emerging as the surprise opponent for Steve Maclin, Santana made his TNA return, picking up the win on his first night back and setting the precedent for his next run. After what has been an incredibly successful two years. Now, the 31-year-old has reflected on his time since coming back to TNA.
Speaking to Marks with Mics, Mike Santana said his last two years in TNA have been a wild ride.
“Just looking at the last two years in general, man, it’s been a wild ride. I’ve been able to accomplish so many things. I’ve been traveling my ass off and just going everywhere. Not only have I kept up with a full TNA schedule, I’ve also maintained a full independent schedule as well. I try to epitomize the phrase of fighting champion and just like that grind is something that has always like been my identity. Like that’s how I, you know, got noticed. That’s how I’ve always put in work. So, when I first got back into wrestling after my injury and being out 14 months and all that stuff, when I made the choice to bet on myself and I left the other place and I left my- the whole tag team thing, I knew I had to hit the ground running and, go back to the roots and go back to what I know, and that’s that grind.”

Having become one of TNA’s biggest names, Mike Santana introduced himself to NXT viewers as part of the crossover in 2025. At the time, the star was still chasing his first TNA World Championship, having to overcome WWE’s Trick Williams to finally get his hands on the gold at Bound For Glory.
Now a two-time world champion, Santana has undoubtedly been a success since coming back to TNA. However, his future with the promotion has been cast into doubt as recent reports have shed light on his current contract status. You can read more about that here.
