Megan Bayne Comments On Penelope Ford’s Injury

Megan Bayne plans to hold down the fort in AEW whilst awaiting Penelope Ford’s return.
During the February 25 edition of AEW Dynamite, Penelope Ford suffered an ankle injury following a dive to the outside of the ring, with Tony Khan later noting that she could be out for months as a result of the injury.
Speaking to Renee Paquette on the latest episode of Close Up, Megan Bayne addressed her tag team partner’s injury and noted that while it is a major change, she knows that Penelope Ford will be supportive on the sidelines.
“Obviously, this current situation to me is a huge change and it’s very upsetting, but Penelope is an athlete, as we all are. So she knows that this sport comes with a lot of risk and you can’t always avoid injury. It’s never welcomed, but it’s not always avoidable. So I’m obviously upset to not have her by my side. Basically since I debuted here full-time, we’ve been alongside one another. But at the moment, I think her focus just needs to be on getting back healthy, healing up at home, and my focus is gonna remain at keeping the rest of the roster in line. And I know that even if it’s temporarily from the sidelines, she’ll be supportive.”

With Penelope Ford sidelined for the time being, Megan Bayne now finds herself regularly teaming with recent AEW signee Lena Kross as Divine Dominion, with the pair capturing the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship at AEW Revolution on March 15.
Divine Dominion successfully defended the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship against the former champions Babes of Wrath during the March 28 episode of AEW Collision, and it currently appears unlikely that any team will be able to stop them anytime soon.
