CM Punk Reveals What Prompted His WWE RAW Promo Last Week
CM Punk has addressed his recent promo on WWE RAW.
Last week’s episode of WWE Raw opened with CM Punk taking aim not only at his WrestleMania 42 opponent Roman Reigns but Randy Orton’s new ally Pat McAfee, with Punk labelling the former NFL punter “Pat MAGAfee” and pointing out that it’s Ari Emanuel who needs to address rising ticket prices.
Appearing on All the Smoke ahead of WrestleMania 42, CM Punk was asked what prompted the pipebomb-esque promo, to which he noted that he wasn’t the only one who felt strongly about the situation.
“What prompted this was an overall feeling from not just me or not just the boys, but hair and make up, production, management, the crew, a lot of people were feeling a little bit disrespected and pissed off. So I had a job to do in my mind. I have to go out there and promote my WrestleMania match with Roman, who’s not in the building. It’s not an easy thing to do. So you’re out there, you’re solo, and I need to take these people on a ride, — I was out there trying to sell WrestleMania, sell some tickets, make it exciting, make it real, and also stick up for the business.”

Later that week on WWE SmackDown saw Pat McAfee issue his retort to CM Punk, claiming that the World Heavyweight Champion has his merchandise money sent to him by TKO into an account called “I’m sorry, Saudi Arabia.”
Pat McAfee will be in Randy Orton’s corner as he challenges Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship in the main event of Night One of WrestleMania 42 on April 18 at Allegiant Stadium.
CM Punk, meanwhile, is set to defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns in the main event of Night Two of WrestleMania 42 the following night.
