Sheamus has addressed the shoulder injury that has been keeping him out of a WWE ring.

‘The Celtic Warrior’ Sheamus last competed in a WWE ring during the November 17, 2025 edition of Monday Night RAW, where he teamed with John Cena and Rey Mysterio to defeat The Judgment Day. Since then, Sheamus has been sidelined with a shoulder injury, and the former champion has now provided an update on his recovery.

Speaking on OTB Football, Sheamus provided an update on his injury status and recovery, admitting that he is eager to get back inside a WWE ring.

“This one’s been difficult. This kind of came out of nowhere. I started noticing my shoulder around May, June, and then I had the Clash in Paris with Rusev. It was bothering me, and I thought it tore. I got a couple of shots in there, and it felt good for a little while, but ultimately it was just a matter of time before it stopped moving on me. — My goal is to put on a banger. A physical match that nobody has seen anything the likes of, and just get the crowd on their feet, out of their chairs. That’s what I do. I do it better than anybody. Of course, it comes with the situation where I can get banged up as well. And this shoulder thing, I really tried to push through it until the point where I couldn’t even move my arm. So I had surgery December 30th, and ever since then I’ve been in rehab. But I’m dying to get back in that ring. I’m dying to get back to work. I’ve got cabin fever. I have a lot still to give in this business. I’m still as passionate now, probably more than I was when I first started. And I just want to get back out there and start putting bangers on.”

Sheamus was originally set to compete in the Last Time Is Now tournament to determine John Cena’s final opponent before being withdrawn due to the aforementioned shoulder injury, which ultimately required surgery.

The Miz ultimately replaced Sheamus in the tournament, with GUNTHER going on to defeat LA Knight in the final before retiring John Cena with a submission victory at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13.
