Danhausen’s WWE Backlash Mystery Partner Reportedly Speculated To Be Jelly Roll

Jelly Roll could be set to make his WWE return at Backlash: Tampa.

WWE Backlash is set to take place later today at the Benchmark International Arena. One of the matches scheduled for the premium live event will see Danhausen team with a mystery partner to take on Kit Wilson and The Miz, and a new update has emerged regarding the possible identity of that partner.

According to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer, Danhausen’s mystery partner is currently speculated to be Grammy Award-winning artist Jelly Roll.

“I can’t confirm this but I am hearing speculation that the mystery partner for Danhausen is, in fact, Jelly Roll, which would make a LOT more sense than an unadvertised PLE appearance by CM Punk.”

Jelly Roll last appeared in WWE during the main event of Night One of WrestleMania 42 on April 18, where he evened the odds in the Undisputed WWE Championship match between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton by taking out Pat McAfee.

Various reports noted last month that Jelly Roll was originally set to team with Cody Rhodes in a tag team match against Randy Orton and Pat McAfee at Backlash. However, those plans reportedly changed following McAfee’s withdrawal from the angle after receiving heavy criticism.

Due to their well-documented friendship stemming from their time together in All Elite Wrestling and as fellow Chicago natives, fans had speculated that the mystery partner could be former World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk, although that now appears unlikely.

Should Jelly Roll be revealed as Danhausen’s mystery partner at Backlash: Tampa, it would mark his first time competing inside a WWE ring since defeating Kit Wilson in singles action on the March 27 episode of Friday Night SmackDown.
