Adam Copeland doesn’t care about a big sendoff with AEW.

In terms of AEW’s strengths, many fans would point out that the company have done well when it comes to giving strong retirements to some of the industry’s biggest names. Sting’s final match comes to mind as a legend going out in a commendable way, while someone like Christopher Daniels got to bring the curtain down in a brutally fitting Texas Death match with Hangman Page, leaving icons able to trust the promotion with their last run. However, one particular star has now said he’s not interested in an elaborate sendoff.

Speaking to ClutchPoints, Adam Copeland said he doesn’t care about a future sendoff after having to retire once previously.

“I already had my sendoff. This time, it’ll be my choice, and that makes it a different experience entirely. I don’t care if I get this big, tearful sendoff… I have no preconceived idea of what it needs to be.”

Of course, Copeland, known as Edge in WWE, initially brought his in-ring career to a close in 2011 due to sustained neck damage. However, to the shock of many, he returned in the 2020 Royal Rumble, and has been able to enjoy time competing with the best in the world that he once thought was behind him.

Nowadays, Copeland is usually seen alongside his tag team partner and former rival Christian Cage. The pair are one of the more legendary teams in history, but, this Sunday, they’ll put their future as a team on the line against FTR in a bid to win the AEW World Tag Team Championships.
