GUNTHER Names Axiom As WWE’s Best Technical Wrestler Today

GUNTHER believes Axiom is currently WWE’s best technical wrestler.

Back on January 14, 2021, GUNTHER successfully defended the WWE NXT United Kingdom Championship against Axiom, then known as A-Kid, in the main event of that week’s episode of WWE NXT UK. The pair would later become known to the WWE Universe as GUNTHER and Axiom respectively, with the former World Heavyweight Champion clearly remaining a big fan of the Spanish luchador.

Speaking to Netflix Italia ahead of Clash in Italy, GUNTHER praised Axiom as the best technical wrestler in WWE today, despite not always having the opportunity to fully showcase it.

“I don’t think he has the chance to show it a lot at the moment, but I think Axiom actually is the best technical wrestler on the main roster right now. He’s in a tag team, he’s doing different kind of matches right now, but when he gets the chance to show his skills, I think he’s by far the best technical wrestler we have.”

The former WWE NXT UK standouts would share the ring once again on March 14, 2025, and while GUNTHER once again emerged victorious, Axiom delivered an impressive performance in front of a passionate crowd in Barcelona.

GUNTHER is set to challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at Clash in Italy on Sunday, May 31 at the Inalpi Arena in Turin.

Axiom has been a consistent presence in WWE’s tag team division across WWE NXT and Friday Night SmackDown alongside Nathan Frazer as Fraxiom since late 2023, although the pair are yet to capture main roster gold despite arriving on the blue brand last year as two-time former NXT Tag Team Championship holders.
