Kevin Knight Reportedly Discussed For AEW World Title Match At Redemption

Kevin Knight is set for a major push in All Elite Wrestling.
Despite currently holding the AEW TNT Championship, Kevin Knight has made no secret of his ambition to win the AEW World Championship. With his stock continuing to rise, it appears he may get that opportunity sooner rather than later.
Fightful Select are now reporting that Kevin Knight has been discussed as a future AEW World Championship challenger, with AEW Redemption later this month among the options under consideration.
“Sources in AEW spoke with Fightful and claimed Kevin Knight was discussed for an upcoming World Championship match, and that the AEW Redemption PPV wasn’t completely off the table. In addition, we’ve heard he’s been planned for feuds against other world title-level talent.”

Prior to MJF and Kenny Omega’s AEW World Championship match at AEW Dynamite: Beach Break last Wednesday, Kevin Knight warned that ‘Jet 2 Belts’ is on the way for whoever left with the gold. In doing so, he also continued to build tension between himself and his fellow Don Callis Family members.
Kenny Omega would go on to defeat MJF last week to capture the AEW World Championship and is now set to defend the title against Owen Hart Foundation Tournament winner Will Ospreay in the main event of AEW All In at Wembley Stadium on August 30.
AEW Redemption comes first, however, with the inaugural edition of the pay-per-view set to take place at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, on July 26, where Omega is unlikely to be short of challengers for the AEW World Championship.
With many fans anticipating that Will Ospreay will finally capture the AEW World Championship at AEW All In, Jim Ross recently revealed that he would like to see Kenny Omega enjoy a lengthy reign with the title. You can read more about that here.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on future plans for Kevin Knight as soon as we hear more.
