Rhino Hopes To Work With Adam Copeland And Christian Cage In AEW Appearance
Rhino wants to rekindle his old chemistry with AEW’s Cope and Cage.
When ECW shut down, Rhino would sign with WWE, wrestling with the company from 2001 until 2005. During this time, the star would form a strong relationship with the tag team of Adam “Edge” Copeland and Christian Cage, both on and off screen. The former ECW World Television Champion also played a huge part in Edge and Christian’s famous TLC victory at WrestleMania X-Seven. With Rhino set to appear on AEW television during their stay in Detroit, Michigan this week, fans have speculated on what he may do, and it seems “The Manbeast” is in favour of a reunion with his old allies.
Speaking with ROAR Around the Ring, Rhino has highlighted his hope to work with Adam Copeland and Christian Cage when he stops by AEW.
“To be in the ring with them, whether you’re wrestling them or if you’re teaming with them, you’re learning something. You’re going to school. Hopefully I’m able to because the last time all three of us were in the ring for a major promotion, it’s been probably two decades. And a lot of people know our wrestling history. That would be something. To have it on a grand scale like this in AEW, and in Detroit, I don’t say I would shed a tear but maybe.”

After his first WWE run, Rhino went on to spend five years with TNA, holding the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship during this portion of his career. The former ECW name would then work on the independent scene before a return to WWE in 2016, forming an unlikely but successful team with Heath Slater. They would become the inaugural SmackDown Tag Team Champions and team until Rhino’s departure in 2019. Since then, Rhino has continued to work the independent scene and in IMPACT (now TNA), where he won the IMPACT Tag Team Championships twice.
It’s worth noting that Rhino has also made a previous appearance in AEW, challenging Nick Wayne for the ROH Television Championship on the 7th May episode of Dynamite. Wayne was a part of Christian Cage’s Patriarchy stable at this time.
