Adam Copeland Addresses His Upcoming Arena Mexico Debut

Adam Copeland has expressed his excitement ahead of tonight’s AEW Grand Slam: Mexico.

Tonight, All Elite Wrestling returns to Arena Mexico for its second annual AEW Grand Slam: Mexico event. A key match on the card will see The Young Bucks team with Cope and Cage to take on Jon Moxley, PAC, Daniel Garcia and Wheeler Yuta of the Death Riders, paying homage to lucha libre’s history of exciting multi-man tag action. Importantly, this will be Copeland’s first time in Arena Mexico, and “The Rated R Superstar” has now looked ahead to tonight’s clash.

On Instagram, Adam Copeland discussed his excitement to be wrestling at Arena Mexico.

“Tonight I get to perform for the first time in The Wrestling Cathedral. Arena Mexico. The last time I had a match in Mexico was 2008. Mexico we got some catching up to do! I love Lucha Libre. Everything about it. The masks, the mystique, the pageantry. Can’t wait to get out there. See ya soon Mexico, bring your voices.”

Copeland has acknowledged that he’s in the final part of his career, and he’s trying to do all the things he can before he goes into retirement on his own terms. To that end, he posted a list on his Instagram about all the things he still wants to do. Wrestling in Arena Mexico was one, while being at Wembley was another, which he will do at AEW All In: London later this month.

The boxes that are currently “unchecked” include being back at the Maple Leaf Gardens, which he will do later this year via Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling, being at the Tokyo Dome, and wrestling Kenny Omega. You can read more about his upcoming MLP appearance here.
