MVP Reveals He Expects To Wrestle His Final Match Sometime In 2027

MVP feels that we’ll see him one last time in the ring by next year.

The manager and veteran wrestler has made an impact on the wrestling business many times over, and across multiple companies, including his most recent stint in All Elite Wrestling. He created The Hurt Syndicate with Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin, led them to winning the tag team titles, and his crew was dominant in the most recent Stadium Stampede. However, the 52-year-old is now looking ahead to when he might have his last match.

In a new episode of his show Marking Out, as detailed by SI.com, he noted that his final match is likely to happen in 2027.

“My ability to wrestle at a high level is deteriorating because of time. I don’t have the explosiveness that I used to. And let me be real with you. I don’t have the desire. My passion for actually getting in the ring and having that match isn’t what it used to be.”

While there are many legends of the ring who keep trying to get back into the squared circle to finish their careers on their own terms, MVP appears content to keep the spotlight on Lashley and Benjamin, only stepping in the ring when necessary. The star has wrestled less than a handful of times in AEW, including doing so in a feud with The Demand and being in the previously mentioned Stadium Stampede.

Currently, The Hurt Syndicate are in a unique position in AEW. The last time they were seen in the ring, MVP stated they were available to hire for roster members looking for backup. On last night’s Collision, they were approached by Shane Taylor Promotions for a job. We’ll have to wait and see how things develop with them, and whether MVP gets in the ring sooner or later.
