Will Ospreay Teases 1966 England-Inspired AEW All In: London Gear

Will Ospreay knew exactly what inspiration he wanted for his upcoming ring gear at AEW’s biggest event.

All In: London is less than a week away, and while many online and beyond are looking forward to the wrestling that will be had at Wembley Stadium, many are also curious about how certain AEW wrestlers will go all out for their entrances and outfits. Since this is All Elite Wrestling’s biggest event of the year, the promotion tends to amp things up to highlight the spectacle of it all. One who has embraced that every year is Will Ospreay, and, ahead of his main event match, the Brit has now clued fans in on the inspiration behind his upcoming gear.

In a chat with TV Insider, he revealed exactly what his upcoming ring gear will reference:

“The gear is modeled after England’s 1966 World Cup win. So I have the red and white. I’m usually in green, but when I play, I think about my home and away kit. My away kit is the green color, but my home kit is red.”

That theme of England plays into Ospreay’s main story going into All In: London, as he’s trying to be the first Englishman to win a world title on home soil. His fight won’t be an easy one, though, as he’s got Kenny Omega to contend with, and “The Cleaner” has already made an impression of how far he’s willing to go to keep the AEW World Title.

Going back to the entrances, Ospreay has had two different kinds of entrances in his three appearances at All In so far. His first one had him paying tribute to England by literally wearing its flag on his all-white gear. Then, over the next two years, he paid tribute to Assassin’s Creed, even teaming up with Ubisoft to get key footage and bringing in Roger Craig Smith to narrate.

Ospreay noted previously that he’d be leaning away from the video game series this time. Based on his comments about his gear, his entrance package could be focused on his home country and how he’s doing everything possible to win the gold not just for himself, but for his people. For now, though, how he emerges ahead of his Wembley match remains to be seen.
