Tony Khan Discusses Thekla’s Status Ahead Of AEW All In: London

Tony Khan has made his thoughts clear on “The Toxic Spider” and whether we’ll see her soon.

Thekla has been a key part of AEW’s women’s division all year, including being the Women’s World Champion for several months until her loss to Willow Nightingale at last month’s Redemption pay-per-view Since that match, though, she hasn’t been seen or heard from on-screen, leaving the star without a place on the All In: London card as things stand. With many fans wondering when we’ll next see Thekla, Tony Khan has addressed her absence.

During the All In: London presser, Tony Khan spoke about where Thekla is, saying she’s at the forefront of his mind and could return at any time.

“I think Thekla is a tremendous, tremendous wrestler, and I think it’s certainly a great opportunity for everybody in AEW anytime they can participate in AEW All In and I still think we could see Thekla appear very soon in AEW, obviously after she lost the championship to Willow Nightingale. We saw Thekla have this incredible match and we haven’t seen her since. I think stay tuned to AEW because you’d expect to see Thekla back very soon. Thekla’s a great wrestler. Somebody who’s at the forefront in my mind and I’m also very cognizant that she’s been a great champion for us, and she’s somebody who can come in and be a huge part of our shows, any time, on pay-per-view or TV, and Thekla’s very unpredictable as well. So, I would say stay tuned, and certainly Thekla’s a very valued person in AEW.”

As yet, Thekla’s immediate future remains unclear, with Khan hinting elsewhere on the media call that there could still be opportunities to feature more women on the card for All In: London. At present, there isn’t a TBS Championship match on the show, with it possible that something could come together at the last minute to give more talent across the women’s division the chance to shine at Wembley Stadium.

Alternatively, Thekla could be on the first Dynamite after the Wembley show to try and re-establish her claim to the Women’s World Championship, regardless of who wins between Nightingale and Mercedes Moné. For now, though, when she makes her return to AEW remains to be seen.
