Dan Tamura And Seiki Yoshioka Reach Zennichi Jr. Festival Final On 8/29

Dan Tamura and Seiki Yoshioka will compete in the final of the 2026 Zennichi Jr. Festival on Saturday, August 29. The two competitors earned their places in the final by winning their respective blocks earlier this week.

Seiki Yoshioka finished his Block A campaign with a 3-2 record and six points. He entered Tuesday needing a win and some help from the result of the other block match to go his way in order to secure his place in the final.

With Yasutaka Yano already eliminated and Rising HAYATO sidelined through injury, the other four wrestlers all still had a chance of reaching the final. Leon de Oro and MUSASHI would surprisingly see their match end in a double count-out, leaving them on four and five points respectively and opening the door for both Yoshioka and Seigo Tachibana to claim the spot.

After 17 minutes, Yoshioka connected with a shattering Shining Wizard to clinch the massive victory. This will be the second time he has competed in the final of this competition, with his first appearance coming in 2019.

The following day, AJPW held the decisive matches in Block B. Of the six competitors, three remained in contention, all of whom are famously hard-hitting wrestlers. They were Masaaki Mochizuki, who entered the tournament as a replacement for the injured Atsuki Aoyagi, reigning AJPW Junior Champion Dan Tamura, and perhaps the MVP of the tournament so far, Yuya Aoki.

Night 6’s tournament action began with Dan Tamura concluding his Block B campaign with a victory over Shota Kofuji, who finished his first tournament without earning a single point despite putting together an impressive run in the ring. The win moved Tamura to seven points, though he would still need some major help to secure his place in the final.

The second tournament match of the evening featured two legendary Dragon Gate wrestlers in the aforementioned Masaaki Mochizuki and Naruki Doi. Doi once again proved to have Mochizuki’s number, defeating his old rival in under eight minutes to force a tie between Doi and Tamura.

With Yuya Aoki then losing his final match against Hokuto Omori, All Japan announced a tiebreaker singles match between Tamura and Mochizuki to determine the Block B winner.

The tiebreaker match was absolutely hellacious, with both men utilizing their impactful strikes to wear each other down. Tamura eventually defeated Mochizuki in 12:32 to become the Block B winner and secure his third trip to the final.

So, just like that, reigning AJPW Junior Heavyweight Champion Dan Tamura will look to assert his dominance over the division by winning the 2026 Zennichi Jr. Festival on Saturday. If he emerges victorious, Tamura will also become just the sixth two-time winner of the tournament, joining KAI, Kotaro Suzuki, Shuji Kondo, Koji Iwamoto, and Atsuki Aoyagi.

The August 29 AJPW show is shaping up to be another potentially fantastic event. The show will take place inside the Ota Ward General Gymnasium and feature the following matches:
