Will Ospreay Says Bringing The AEW World Title Home ‘Means The World’

Will Ospreay achieved his dream at AEW All In: London.

Last night at AEW All In: London, Will Ospreay defeated Kenny Omega inside Wembley Stadium to capture the AEW World Championship. In doing so, he made history by becoming the first British wrestler to win a world championship on British soil.

Speaking during the AEW All In post-show media scrum, Will Ospreay revealed that when he first began wrestling, he never imagined he would be the person to bring a world championship to the United Kingdom.

“Of course the main mission when I first started wrestling was I wanted to be a World Champion. But, you could never dream this scenario or this situation. I’ve grown up watching so many amazing British wrestlers throughout my time,  and not one of them ever won, like a major championship on home soil. I think about all the times I would do gigs, like Southside, PROGRESS, and RevPro. So many indies up and down the country. I always thought this genuinely makes me happy. Being in the ring getting to perform. I never really did it for the money. I just did it because I love doing it. I never imagined when I started doing this that I would even be considered to be the guy that brings a World Championship home to his country. I’ve been so lucky to fly the flag at Korakuen Hall, Tokyo Dome, Madison Square Garden. I am Brit Wres, in my opinion. It’s just like a mind-blowing experience, knowing I got to share the ring with the greatest wrestler of our generation in the most iconic stadium in the UK. I brought home the most important prize in pro wrestling. It means the world.”

The victory was an emotional one for Ospreay, representing the culmination of years of hard work and perseverance. To win AEW’s biggest championship in front of his countrymen and family made the moment all the more significant.

Elsewhere during the show, AEW All In: London delivered a little bit of everything, from the debut of The New Level and The Demand’s Trios Championship victory to Darby Allin’s death-defying dive off the stage. Mercedes Moné also finally captured the AEW Women’s World Championship before Will Ospreay closed out the night with an emotional AEW World Championship victory.

Speaking during the same media scrum, Will Ospreay described All In: London 2026 as potentially the best pay-per-view AEW has ever produced.
