Walker Stewart Confirms Contract Extension With NJPW And More Dates With AEW
Walker Stewart will continue to be a key English voice for New Japan Pro Wrestling and STARDOM.
It’s rare that you talk about certain wrestling announcers re-signing with a company or going somewhere else. However, when a person makes a vocal impact on a promotion, regardless of the language they speak, it’s noticeable when they leave, or important when they stay. For a few years now, Walker Stewart has been one of the key English announcers for New Japan Pro Wrestling, and he’s now confirmed to be staying with the company.
Earlier today, Walker Stewart announced via X he has re-upped with NJPW, while also stating he’ll be in other promotions, too.
Walker being with New Japan is a good win for the promotion, which has gotten some positive buzz in recent months, not least due to the stellar G1 Climax final on August 16. At just 24 years old, Stewart looks primed to deliver high-quality calls for years to come behind the NJPW announce desk.
Plus, him being able to continue with STARDOM while to help both All Elite Wrestling will help as well as the working relationship between the companies. Walker was there for Forbidden Door this year and was praised by fans for his announcing style. He then made a one-off appearance on AEW Collision and was equally praised there. While he didn’t highlight when exactly he’ll be back in AEW, the avenue has certainly opened up for him over the last few months.
