Nyla Rose Praises Tony Khan For Supporting Her During Oklahoma State Athletic Commission Pushback

Nyla Rose is the latest to praise Tony Khan for all the support he’s provided during her AEW tenure.

“The Native Beast” has been with All Elite Wrestling since its inception, including being in the first women’s match at the original Double or Nothing. However, due to being transgender, many have tried to hinder her efforts in the wrestling space. That included the Oklahoma State Athletic Commission in 2024. When AEW wrestled at a venue in the state, and Rose was on the card, the commission issued a warning about what would happen if Nyla was allowed to continue wrestling other women in the promotion within the state.

In a chat with Denise Salcedo, Nyla touched on the matter, showing appreciation to Tony Khan for standing by her side.

“We can touch on that a little bit. To be perfectly blunt, hateful bigots with no basis for anything. Athletic Commission is a scam. They’re just a bunch of greedy people who have found an avenue to work people out of money, and they’re using new laws and loopholes to do what they want to do, basically. I was a little shocked [that Tony Khan came to her defense], to be totally honest. I was very surprised, and incredibly grateful that he would, with zero hesitation. There was no thought there. He knew the right side of history to be on, and that’s where he stood ten toes down. And for someone of his caliber in his position to do that, he absolutely did not have to, but he did. That speaks a lot about who he is as a person and who he is as a man. I’m so grateful to him for that.”

Tony Khan has previously been vocal about how inclusivity in the promotion. In terms of their roster, the company have performers who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and non-binary. Plus, Anthony Bowens’ “Pride Of Pro Wrestling” character making direct reference to his identity when he began competing in the singles division last year.

Thankfully, the AEW fanbase, for the most part, backs Nyla as well and hopes that she will become part of AEW TV once more, as they want to see the Native Beast in action. On that note, Rose recently addressed her current absence from Dynamite and Collision. You can read more about that here.
