Dax Harwood Says It’s “Almost Undeniable” That AEW Is The Home Of Tag Team Wrestling
Dax Harwood feels that AEW is crushing it in regard to tag team wrestling.
In the eyes of their fans, AEW are having a strong 2026, and that’s in no small part due to their tag team division. At present, Adam Copeland and Christian Cage sit atop the mountain, though the lineup of teams features the likes of The Young Bucks, FTR, The New Level, and Motor City Machine Guns, among others. In fact, this point was hammered home by the promotion at All In: London when the aforementioned teams entered the ring after the champions retained at Wembley Stadium. Now, one-half of FTR has given his view on the strength of their division.
In a chat with SB Nation, Dax Harwood said AEW is the home of tag team wrestling.
“It’s more exciting in AEW now than it’s ever been in our whole time here, and that’s the honest-to-God truth. We’ve got some young Teams like the Gunn Club, Austin and Colton, we’ve got young teams like the Rascalz that are coming in and trying to take over the spot from FTR. On top of that, you also have some of the greatest tag teams of all time. Obviously FTR, The Young Bucks, and Cope and Cage, but now with the Austin Creed and, and Kofi, you’ve got The New Level, one of the greatest tag teams of all time. You’ve got Motor City Machine Guns, another set of guys who can lay claim as the greatest tag team of all time. So if you got five of the top tag teams in the last 30 years in one company under one roof, with some of the greatest young talent in the world, I think it’s almost undeniable to say that AEW is the home for tag team wrestling.”

This sentiment is reinforced when you think about the big tag matches that have happened this year in AEW, including one coming at All Out. This Saturday, Cage and Cope will look to defend their titles against both FTR and The Young Bucks in a 3-way Ladder Match. In many respects, this is a dream match that many have wanted since Copeland and Christian Cage reunited in AEW.
Plus, no matter who wins, there will be plenty of contenders lined up to face the AEW World Tag Team Champions, and we’ll find out who’s next in line on the same night. Also at All Out, Kevin Knight and Kyle Fletcher will battle Darby Allin and Steven Borden to determine the next challengers for the gold.
