Mason Rook Could Reportedly Be Out Of Action “For A Very Long Time”

Mason Rook could be out of action for a long time.
On September 15, Mason Rook became the number one contender to the NXT Championship. The Englishman was set to be Grayson Waller’s first televised challenger since the Australian won the title back at Heatwave on August 30. However, when it came time for their match, it was announced that Rook was medically unable to compete, with EK Prosper taking his place. Now, it seems he could be sidelined for a lot longer than fans may have initially thought.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez revealed Mason Rook could be out for a long time.
“Whatever’s going on with Mason Rook I have been told could be pretty serious, but I don’t know what it is. I’ve just been told he could be out a long time. Could be a very long time. So, no one seems to really be talking about what the issue is, but whatever it is, it’s a real issue and he could be out like a long time. So all the best to him as well. That’s all I know about that.”
-Bryan Alvarez
Rook signed with WWE earlier this year, surprising fans with his NXT debut on April 28. He came in with a lot of buzz following his work across the UK scene, with John Cena famously being a supporter of the man formerly known as Will Kroos from work in NORTH Wrestling.
A long spell on the sidelines will undoubtedly be a huge blow to his momentum, particularly as he was ascending towards the NXT Championship. Of course, we wish Mason Rook the best, and look forward to seeing him return to the ring as soon as he’s medically able.
