Sayaka Kurara will be back in a matter of days.

Former World of STARDOM Champion Sayaka Kurara announced on during STARDOM’s Korakuen Hall show on Sunday that she will return to in-ring action in October 20 following a two month break to heal from nagging injuries.

The announcement came following Aya Sakura’s two on one handicap victory over Kikyo Furusawa and Rian. During the match, the Many⭐️Money duo attacked Kurara, however she was able to put some offense together, including a devastating Tokimeki Spear on Rian.

After the match, Kurara would take the microphone to tell everyone that she was returning and challenging Furusawa and Rian to a tag team match for the NEW BLOOD Tag Team Titles. The match has since been scheduled to take place at the next STARDOM Nighter in Korakuen Hall in eight days time.

This upcoming title match will be the first defense for Sakura and Kurara since they defeated Anne Kanaya and Matoi Hamabe back in May. In all, they’ve only defended their tag belts twice since they first won them back on October 30 last year. To say their title reign has been both cursed and forgettable would be an understatement. Of course, some of this can be linked to Kurara’s shocking move up to the main event of STARDOM’s roster for some of 2026, and later her injury, but it bears mention that the NEW BLOOD tag belts have been violently down cycled during this reign.

The NEW BLOOD Tag Team belts were initially created in March of 2023 as an undercard tag team title for younger wrestlers on STARDOM’s roster. For much of its early history, the belts were mostly defended on STARDOM’s New Blood series of shows, however they have been seen on main roster shows as well. Since their creation, there have been five title holders:

  • 1st – KARMA (Haruka Umesaki) and Starlight Kid (188 days, two defenses)
  • 2nd – Hanan and Saya Iida (298 days, four defenses)
  • 3rd – Azusa Inaba and Rina (156 days, two defense)
  • 4th – HANAKO and Waka Tsukiyama (308 days, four defenses)
  • 5th – Aya Sakura and Sayaka Kurara (347 days, two defenses)
