Kevin Knight Is Honored That Tony Khan Thinks He’s One Of The New Pillars Of AEW

Kevin Knight appreciates being seen for all his work in AEW by the head of the company.
There have been many acquisitions within All Elite Wrestling over the last few years that have made a serious impact on the company or even raised it to new heights. Speedball Mike Bailey, Thekla, The New Level, Divine Dominion, and so on come to mind. Another name that comes to mind is Kevin Knight, who has soared to great heights within the company.
So, in chatting with TMZ’s Inside The Ring, The Jet noted that hearing Tony Khan praise him as being one of the “new pillars” of AEW meant quite a bit to him.
“That means a lot honestly because I’ve been in this company, what, a little over a year at this point? I was on the dual contract. When I first got to AEW, I was mainly New Japan. Things happened and I looked up, and everything has happened the way it happened. The reason why it [Tony’s praise] impacted me, I wasn’t one of his first guys that he first signed right out the box. Mercedes was a big name coming from WWE. Thekla was a big name coming out of Stardom. Kyle has been grinding the last two, three years on TV. And me, I feel like I just got here. So for him to mention me among those names, it’s like, ‘Wow, he really thinks a lot of me.’ For me, I just do what I do to my best abilities, and obviously he gravitates to it. So I’m just like, ‘I’m doing something right, so let me just keep doing it.’”

Indeed, The Jet has done a lot right, for while he, like others, had to find his footing in AEW first, he soon rose beyond expectations. He teamed up with Speedball Mike Bailey to have numerous great tag team matches as JetSpeed, and even became Trios Champs alongside Mistico. Then, he went on to win the TNT Title and had a record number of defenses with it.
At AEW Redemption in July, he even fought for the world title. While he lost to Kenny Omega, he proved he belonged in the main event scene and likely would be world champ one day. Now, he’s getting ready for another shot at the tag titles alongside Kyle Fletcher. Tony Khan clearly sees a lot in Kevin Knight, and it’s not hard to see why when you look at all he’s done so far.
