Hanan has notched her fifth defence of the Wonder of STARDOM Championship.

On Sunday, Hanan defeated her little sister Hina in the main event of STARDOM Path of Thunder event to retain her Wonder of Stardom Championship. The oldest of the three sisters of STARDOM put Hina away at the 19:46 mark after hitting a wrist-clutch backdrop for the definitive three count.

With her latest win, the 22-year-old is now the 12th wrestler to reach five defenses of the White Belt since its inception back in 2011. All of Hanan’s defenses have carried incredibly personal rivalries with them. Her first defense saw her take on the conniving Bea Priestley, who previously turned on Hanan and joined H.A.T.E. before the match.

Her second defense was against her greatest ally and longtime tag partner Saya Iida. Then, she followed that with a battle against fellow giant Ami Sourei, who’s been an underlying rival of Hanan for a few years. Next, she took on her career rival Ruaka in the latter’s first ever challenge at the White Belt, before her latest win over her younger sister, Hina.

This has been a vintage White Belt reign as it’s always been seen that it’s the championship filled with the most melodrama in the promotion. The Tam Nakano/Giulia rivalry mostly revolved around the White Belt, for instance. So, while the matches themselves haven’t been as celebrated as in other reigns, this has been a truly appropriate reign for this title.
