The next Future of Stardom Championship defence is set.

Ranna Yagami will look to continue her historic Future of Stardom Championship reign on November 27 when she’ll defend the strap against H.A.T.E.’s Azusa Inaba. This was announced following STARDOM’s Korakuen Hall event on Tuesday, during which Inaba made the challenge after Yagami pinned Anne Kanaya in an eight-woman tag.

After the match, Inaba came out to confront Yagami. She kicked at Yagami, took the microphone, and chastised the champion.

“When are you going to decide on a future title match with me? Are you scared?… No more boring, lukewarm futures matches. I’m going to change things by becoming the first champion from outside the organization.”

-Azusa Inaba

Yagami would then take the microphone and respond to Inaba.

“I’ll show you the weight of this belt and the meaning of belonging to a certain organization.”

-Ranna Yagami

Yagami initially won the Future of Stardom Title back on March 15 after beating HANAKO. She’s since gone on to defend the belt 10 times, including three in the United States over the summer. She is currently tied for second in defenses with Hanan, and two behind Rina who finished with 12.

Azusa Inaba will look to become the first outsider to ever win the belt, as she is still signed with Just Tap Out. And at 18 years, 363 days old on the day of her challenge, she will attempt to become the sixth youngest to become champion.

The Future of STARDOM belt was introduced in 2018 and has been held by Starlight Kid, Utami Hayashishita, Maika, Saya Iida, and all three of the sisters of Stardom, proving it to be an effective gateway to success.
