Steven Borden Discusses Returning To AEW For Blood And Guts

Steven Borden says he feels great going into one of the most violent matches in AEW history.
The rise of Steven Borden in All Elite Wrestling is a curious one. Despite being in his mid-30s before choosing to follow in his father’s footsteps, he has caught the eye as someone with potential to become a mainstay on Dynamite and Collision, especially after being trained by and teaming with Darby Allin. However, at All Out, the second-generation star suffered an injury which made fans wonder about his future in the ring, with many somewhat taken aback when he announced his first match back would be in Blood & Guts. Now, though, it seems Borden is excited about the prospect of stepping into the cage tonight.
Speaking with First Coast News, Borden discussed how eager he is to return to the ring.
“It feels great to be back. So I got concussed, and I was knocked out for a little bit. “It’s weird though. With injuries, you’re sidelined. Normally, you can feel it. You tore something in your knee or whatever, and so you know as much as you wanna get back in the action, you can’t. But for me, I felt fine. So it’s just this weird thing of like, I wanted to be back out there but I couldn’t, and now that I’m back, it feels pretty dang good.”

If nothing else, it’s good to hear that he hasn’t become gun-shy about getting back into the ring, which would’ve been a fair thing to expect given the suddenness and severity of his injury during the tag team match against the Don Callis Family. Now, he’ll team with Darby Allin, Will Ospreay, Adam Copeland, and The Young Bucks to take on the DCF in Blood & Guts, which will test him physically far more than the All Out match did.
