Athena Announces Her Opponent For ROH Final Battle On December 4

Athena has announced her opponent for her next title defence.
Athena has become the most dominant champion in the history of Ring of Honor and the longest-reigning champion in modern wrestling history. She’s proven her ability to have high-profile matches across the world, and now, we know who her opponent will be at ROH Final Battle next month.
On last night’s ROH on HonorClub, Athena officially challenged Hyan for Final Battle.
Hyan has proven herself as an excellent addition to the AEW/ROH women’s roster, both as a tag team wrestler with Maya World and as a singles wrestler in matches against Persphone and others. As such, her ROH Women’s Championship opportunity will give her the chance to showcase her ability in a big-time title match.
With the show around four weeks away, more matches are likely to be announced in the near future, including after AEW has its Full Gear pay-per-view. At present, the ROH Men’s World Champion Bandido is embroiled in a highly-intense feud over the World Trios Championships, with a Texas Death Match set for next weekend. As such, we’re unlikely to see his focus return to his ROH future until after that’s concluded.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on ROH Final Battle as soon as we hear more.
