Mercedes Moné took time in her latest mag to reflect on her long history with PAC.

On September 27, the wrestling world lost Benjamin Satterley, known to fans worldwide as PAC. Given the close-knitted nature of locker rooms across the globe, the impact of his passing hit everyone he’d worked alongside exceptionally hard, and Mercedes Moné has now taken time to reflect on the loss everyone associated with wrestling felt six weeks ago.

Writing in the Moné Mag, Mercedes reflected on some deeply personal losses that occurred this year, including the loss of Ben Satterley, aka PAC, whom she had known since their days in NXT before reuniting via AEW.

“When you’ve known somebody for so long, you don’t realize how many little pieces of your life they’re part of until they’re gone. The memorial tribute was absolutely beautiful, but the whole show was emotionally difficult for me. I knew I needed to be part of it. I couldn’t imagine just staying backstage. Wrestling was something PAC and I had shared for so many years, and being in the ring felt like the way I needed to honor him. His influence on professional wrestling is going to live on forever. You can see what he brought to this sport in so many wrestlers today. His athleticism and the things he could do inside a ring inspired an entire generation of performers. But for me, I’ll also remember the person behind all of that. I’m so grateful I got to share those memories with him. I miss you, PAC.”

Not only was Moné one of many wrestlers who wrestled in the acclaimed PAC tribute show on September 30, but she was one of many who went out of there way to be part of the show despite injuries and scheduled time off. “The CEO” was still recovering from her broken nose in the time, but wouldn’t miss the opportunity to return to the ring early to pay respects to her friend. Similarly, Kenny Omega forwent intended time off so he could appear on the event.

Mercedes, like the others on the AEW roster, was able to push through the hardship and continue to deliver meaningful matches and moments following the tribute. The CEO is preparing for a bout at Full Gear against Marina Shafir, and she wrote elsewhere in her Moné Mag about how much winning the AEW Women’s World Championship meant to her. You can read more about that here.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Mercedes Moné, as well as the latest tributes to PAC, as soon as we hear more.
