However, Darby Allin came out for the save.
Allin got on the mic and ran down the Bucks. He said that the original mission statement of AEW was “change the world” but the Bucks don’t embody that anymore. Orange Cassidy defeats Matt Taven in a Texas Death Match
The match started a little late in the show and it took a few minutes to get going. Orange Cassidy getting busted open was a colorful visual. A table at ringside was set up and a groggy Cassidy was standing in front of it. Taven set up for a suicide dive, Cassidy moved out of the way and Taven who got crazy air-time and ended up going head-first into the table. Taven was able to beat the count. Cassidy then brought out a heart-shaped box of chocolates. But this was no box of chocolates, it was instead a box of thumbtacks. Both Cassidy and Taven got a taste of the unforgiving tacks. Soon after, Mike Bennett and Trent Beretta got involved but ended up eliminating each other from the equation. A beach break from Cassidy onto a chair and tacks was still not enough. Cassidy had to wrap his fist with a chain and execute an Orange Punch to keep Taven out for the count. Roderick Strong tried to come for the save but Cassidy quickly threw him out of the ring before he could get involved any more. Cassidy and Strong are set to face off for the International title at Revolution.
