It’s Wednesday and you know what that means. Dynamite is headlined by a match-up that not many would have predicted five years ago. It’s the battle of the grizzled vets as Adam Copeland faces off with Minoru Suzuki. Speaking of veterans, Jeff Hardy is in singles action as he goes one on one with Swerve Strickland. Adam Page and Penta El Zero Miedo are set for singles action as well Thunder Rosa vs. Red Velvet. Wardlow faces off against Trent Beretta, in what quite possibly could be the first non-squash Wardlow match in a while. Finally, the AEW Trios titles are on the line as The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn face off with the Mogul Embassy, who are trying to avenge their six-man tag title loss from last week.

Samoa Joe Promo

For the second week in a row, Samoa Joe kicks off the show dripped out in a suit. Joe shot out a warning to the rest of the locker room who are eyeing his title. Before he could get too far, Hook came out to interrupt. Uncharacteristically, Hook began to speak. He showed respect to Joe by offering a handshake. However, he did mention that they will meet again down the line. Joe shook his hand but then demanded security to get Hook out of the ring. Hook proceeded to take out the security then walk out as Joe joined the commentary desk.

Hangman Adam Page defeats Penta El Zero Miedo

The match was a solid back and forth between two fantastic workers. Page was able to get out of a lot of Penta’s big offense but got caught in a Made in Japan, which caused a close two-count. A big flurry of offense which consisted of a dead-eye on the apron, a moonsault on the outside, and a buckshot lariat eventually gave Page the victory. Page made his intentions known to Joe after the match as he claimed that he is going to take the title off of the current champion.

Orange Cassidy Backstage Interview

Cassidy was asked about his upcoming match at Revolution with Roderick Strong. Cassidy said that it’s still weeks away and that he’s still planning on wrestling. Cassidy will defend his title on Collision against the winner of a match set to take place on Rampage.

Young Bucks Backstage Interview

The Bucks got into the arena and were given a run sheet. Alex Marvez interviewed them, asking them about last week’s interview that made waves. The Bucks were in full EVP mode and asked to be called by their passport names. The Bucks then moved along and began to scold Top Flight for being late and not having their credentials, even thought they had been there since the afternoon.

Wardlow defeats Trent Berretta

Wardlow took the big advantage early, but Beretta didn’t take long to start to fight back. Later in the match, Rick Knox was distracted by Best Friends and the Undisputed Kingdom outside which led Beretta to attacking Wardlow with a chair for the upper hand. Beretta even got a close two count on Wardlow with a pile-driver. Wardlow regained his momentum and hit a last-ride powerbomb for the win. Wardlow wanted to go for another powerbomb but Chuck Taylor, Orange Cassidy and Rocky Romero came in for the save. Wardlow ended up standing down but it’s important to note that Beretta pushed Cassidy but then seemed to be apologetic. This could be the start of a character change for Beretta.

Adam Copeland vs Minoru Suzuki Hype Package

Copeland hyped up the main event where he’ll be facing Suzuki in a dream match. The fans are up for a sure-fire banger.

Toni Storm & Deonna Purrazzo Sit-Down Interview

At the top of the ramp, Toni Storm and Deonna Purrazzo sit on both sides of Renee Paquette. Storm talked down to Purrazzo mentioning that she was body-shamed recently and that there is so many things Purrazzo needs to be ashamed of. Purrazzo cut a decent promo mentioning their history as friends and even mentioning their matching ankle tattoos. Purrazzo pleaded with Storm to dig deep to find that old Toni Storm, because that is who she wants to beat for the title. Storm eventually threw a shoe at Purrazzo which prompted Purrazzo to attack her. Mariah May came for the save. Both May and Storm retreated as Purrazzo was left with the women’s title.

Jon Moxley Backstage Segment

Jon Moxley threatened the rest of the roster. He will pulverize anyone who can’t keep up with him this year because he is elite. Moxley is set to face Lee Moriarty on Rampage this Friday.

Johnny TV & Taya Valkyrie Backstage Segment

Taya Valkyrie called out Purrazzo for cutting the whole line for a championship match. She challenged Purrazzo to a match on Dynamite next week.

Swerve Strickland defeats Jeff Hardy

Jeff Hardy came out with a different demeanor as he didn’t do his usual dance at the top of ramp. Hardy got a lot of offense in the match. Hardy did his greatest hits but the biggest move he pulled off was a twist of fate onto the steel steps. He tried to follow it up with a Swanton Bomb, but Strickland moved out of the way. Strickland then hit a house call, but Hardy kicked out. The match was given a good amount of time which doesn’t do much to help Hardy, with his current age. Strickland won in the end with a Swerve Stomp. Despite the length of the match, overall it was quite enjoyable and Hardy did his absolute best to give his all in this match.

Adam Page & Swerve Strickland Backstage Segment

Page was asked about his undefeated streak in 2024. Strickland quickly interrupted and congratulated Page on his streak but did remind Page who the last man to beat him was. The two argued but Paquette interrupted and announced that both men will be in dealers choice matches next week which means they will each other’s opponents.

Thunder Rosa defeats Red Velvet

The match started out well, but it seemed like both wrestlers weren’t on the same page as it looked a bit sloppy. Rosa and Velvet were able to salvage it and Rosa got the win with a Tijuana Bomb.

Darby Allin & Sting Promo

Allin talked about Sting and how he still has it. Allin and Sting are 27-0 in tag competition which prompted Allin to ask Sting if he wants to end his career as a tag champion. Sting said he is all in. During the promo, the Young Bucks were shown backstage with headsets, watching on, looking like they were monitoring the show from a production capacity.

Ricky Starks & Bill Backstage Segment

Ricky Starks and Big Bill addressed Sting and Darby Allin’s challenge for the tag titles. The tag team champions accepted the challenge.

AEW Trios Champions: The Acclaimed & Billy Gunn defeated The Mogul Embassy

The Acclaimed made their way to the ring after Bullet Club Gold made their entrance, as the two stables have formed a super group, the Bang Bang Scissor Gang. The match wasn’t anything to write home about but it is important to note that Jay White came to help out the Acclaimed after Nana tried to sneak in a chair. The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn picked up the victory.

Adam Copeland defeats Minoru Suzuki

Savannah, Georgia that was the most pathetic rendition of Kaze Ni Nare. The crowd was disappointing all night, but this put the cherry on top. The bell rang with only a few minutes left in the show.

Copeland and Suzuki went for the big strikes right away. On the outside both competitors went through the barricade after an exchange. Both men were barely able to avoid the count out as they both entered last second. The match then consisted of the typical Suzuki tropes with the big strike exchanges, until Copeland hit the Impaler. Copeland attempted to hit the spear but Suzuki dodged it and locked in a Fujiwara arm-bar, however Copeland was able to get to the bottom rope. Copeland was able to gain momentum and hit a spear but Suzuki kicked out. While they were on the ground, Suzuki took advantage and got a rear-naked chokehold locked in. Copeland looked like he was passing out but he got a second-wind and was able to get Suzuki to hit the uncovered turn-buckle. Copeland hit a Killswitch and got the victory. Christian Cage watched on backstage.

Copeland showed respect to Suzuki after the match but Suzuki walked off without shaking Copeland’s hand. Copeland then called out Cage and said he ‘s still coming for him as the show went off the air.
