It’s Wednesday and you know what that means. AEW International Championship is on the line as Orange Cassidy defends against the man who pinned him last week, Claudio Castagnoli. AEW World Champion MJF will find three mystery partners to take on Bullet Club Gold in tag action. The ROH Six-Man titles are also on the line as the Elite take on Brian Cage and the Gates of Agony. Hikaru Shida will also continue her tv women’s title defenses as she faces Willow Nightingale. Finally, the Golden Jets, Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega take on 2.0.

MJF Backstage Interview

MJF was asked about his potential partners for later in the night. MJF didn’t say who it was but instead opted to talk to Adam Cole on video chat. Cole praised his tag partner before telling him to consider Samoa Joe’s offer to watch his back. After the conversation ended, Roderick Strong was wheeled into the shot by the Kingdom. Strong told Cole that there’s no way MJF isn’t the devil in the mask. Cole abruptly hung up. On screen, similar to last week, the devil in the mask showed up for a few seconds before it cut away.

AEW International Championship: Orange Cassidy Defeats Claudio Castagnoli

Castagnoli’s offense and Cassidy’s selling is a match made in heaven. Everything looks so brutal, but Cassidy amplifies it with his facial expressions. Hook and Wheeler Yuta keep teasing their inevitable fight outside of the ring before Bryce Remsburg orders them both to the back as the match continues. The chemistry on display was fantastic, highlighted by an unreal tornado DDT counter from Castagnoli into a giant swing. Later on in a desperation attempt, Cassidy landed an Orange Punch followed by Beach Break. However, Castagnoli smartly rolls away onto the outside to avoid the pin. Cassidy was able to eventually steal the victory with a roll-up after a hurricanrana.

Cassidy didn’t have time to celebrate as Jon Moxley’s music hit moments later. Cassidy filled with rage ran into the ring to fight Moxley. Moxley battered Cassidy and fought off security before kicking the International title and walking away.

MJF Backstage Segment

MJF knocks on Kenny Omega’s locker room door which is answered by Chris Jericho. Jericho gives his old foe a smirk before closing the door on his face. As MJF is walking away he is ambushed by Wardlow who begins choking the World Champion.

“You took everything away from me, now I’m going to take everything from you, when you least expect it,” Wardlow says to his old friend.

MJF then walks away in a rage before Max Caster greets him. MJF continues to walk away, looking annoyed.

Jon Moxley Backstage Segment

Moxley voices his frustrations aimed at Orange Cassidy for the events of the past few weeks. Moxley then vows to beat Cassidy within an inch of his life at Full Gear. If this match is anything compared to the match at All Out, fans are in for a treat.

ROH Six-Man Championships: Brian Cage & The Gates of Agony defeat The Elite

The match was pretty standard until Hangman was setting up for a Buckshot Lariat. Swerve then came out to taunt Page. Page tagged Nick Jackson and immediately ran after Swerve to the back. The Young Bucks couldn’t handle the three on two situation and ended up taking the loss and relinquishing the belts. In a fit of rage, Matt Jackson snapped outside of the ring. It’s not clear whether the Bucks are upset with the situation in general or if they’re upset with Page for walking out on them. Fans will have to wait and see where this story goes.

MJF Backstage Segment

MJF continues his journey finding partners for his match. He avoids Samoa Joe’s locker room before going up to Darby Allin’s locker room. MJF takes the sign and crosses off Allin’s name, instead he writes “Emo B***h”. The Acclaimed are behind Max, with Caster holding a “MJF Pick Us” sign. MJF once again walks away from the trio.

Adam Copeland In-Ring Segment

Copeland explains his relationship with Sting and how they go way back. Both suffered similar neck injuries and have kept in contact with each other for years as they would give each other advice. Before Copeland could go much farther, Christian Cage comes out to interrupt. Cage threatens to put Copeland in a wheelchair if he chooses to team with Sting and Allin at Full Gear. Cage then gets Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne to ambush Copeland. Copeland is set up for the conchairto before Stings music hits. Sting and Allin come for the save. In the midst of the chaos, Copeland spears Cage and vows to take him down. Copeland will team with Sting and Allin to face Cage, Luchasarus, and Nick Wayne at Full Gear.

Tony Khan Announcement

Tony Khan announces that the tickets for All In 2024 will go on sale on December 1st, with a chance to get early access if you sign up. A bit underwhelming for this to be the special announcement

Chris Jericho & Kenny Omega defeat Matt Menard & Angelo Parker

2.0 simply just don’t have the reputation to serve as a threat which made this match lack heat early on. The match picked up as Menard hit Jericho with the baseball hat, however Jericho kicked out. Parker then went for another hit with the bat, but Jericho dodged it and hit a Judas Effect for the win. Don Callis then came out to lay out a street fight challenge in two weeks times. Omega and Jericho accept the challenge with Ibushi being Omega’s pick for their partner. However, with Sammy Guevara returning, they are still a man short. Jericho announced that their fourth partner is a not just a man, but he’s a giant. Cue Paul White’s music. In what is quite the strange variety of wrestlers, Powerhouse Hobbs, Kyle Fletcher, Konosuke Takeshita, and Sammy Guevara will take on Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega, Kota Ibushi, and Paul White in a street fight.

Kenny Omega, Chris Jericho, & Young Bucks Backstage Interview

Renee Paquette interviews Omega and Jericho following their street fight announcement. The Young Bucks are looming in the background. Matt Jackson goes off on Jericho and asks Omega why Jericho is here. Jackson questions Omega’s loyalty as he believes that he doesn’t have there back. The Bucks walk away out of the locker room. A Young Bucks heel turn looks inevitable at this point. It’s refreshing to see the Bucks as main characters on the show again.

AEW womens championship: Hikaru shida defeats Willow nightngale

The match was well worked, with Nightingale looking like a million bucks. An avalanche falcon-arrow from Shida only got a one count. Eventually a Kitana was enough to put Nightingale away for the win. Toni Storm then came out to do her shtick, Shida wasn’t entertaining it this time, Shida ran up the ramp and gave Storm a knee to the face. The lights then went out and came back on. Julia Hart was in the ring behind Nightingale, Hart offered Nightgale a handshake, but she refused. Skye Blue then came in and teased an attack on Nightingale before spraying blue mist in the face of Hart.

MJF Segment with The Acclaimed

MJF, on the floor looking dejected on the floor is once again joined by the Acclaimed. MJF still doesn’t look interested and says he has one more team to ask. He walks away and immediately sees Team Jarrett. MJF scoffs and goes the other way.

Roderick strong & The kingdom backstage segment

Strong is wheeled into his interview with Paquette. Strong calls Adam Cole and tells his friend that is is ridiculous that MJF didn’t even ask for them to team with him. Cole tells Strong to shut the hell up and hangs up.

Bullet Club Gold defeat MJF & The acclaimed

The Acclaimed make their entrance after Bullet Club Gold cementing the fact that MJF was desperate enough to ask them to tag with him. MJF then makes his entrance, in pink gear with a “scissor me” shirt while not looking too pleased. Early on, MJF wants Jay White in the ring and while it gets teased, Switchblade continues to dodge the champion. Later on, Billy Gunn and Austin Gunn have some good old-fashioned father and son back in forth in the ring. The major theme in this match was how White was able to weasel his way out of fighting MJF. After a kangaroo kick from MJF onto two members of the BCG, White was lurking like a predator. White hit the blade-runner and got the huge victory as he pinned MJF in the middle of the ring. Post match, BCG attempted to take out MJF before the Acclaimed made the save. White was then going to take out MJF with the title but Max Caster heroically took the bullet for MJF. As a way to return the favor, MJF scissored the Acclaimed to end the show.
