‘The Real Deal’ has caught the attention of All Elite Wrestling.
On October 9, Zayda Steel announced on X that she had chosen not to renew her WWE ID contract. During her time under the deal, she competed in nine matches for EVOLVE, winning one singles bout and one tag team contest, while also making appearances at WWE ID-affiliated GCW and APAC events.
With the former WWE ID prospect now a free agent, Fightful Select are reporting that AEW has shown interest in signing the 22-year-old.
“Fightful Select has learned that AEW has shown interest in Zayda Steel of late. Until early October, Zayda Steel was contracted to WWE under her WWE ID contract. We’re told that contact was made sometime in October between AEW and Steel, but that she wasn’t signed as of then, and hadn’t been as of this past week.”

According to the report, those within WWE stated that Zayda Steel’s departure from WWE ID was the result of her decision not to renew her deal, aligning with her statement at the time.
Multiple reports have highlighted that a key aspect of WWE’s ID programme is the company retaining matching rights if another promotion attempts to sign an ID talent. With Steel no longer under contract, AEW are free to pursue her signature.
Before signing with the WWE ID programme, Steel enjoyed spells with both MLW and Marigold. Her stint with the latter began during the promotion’s launch in May 2024 and concluded that August.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on AEW’s interest in Zayda Steel as soon as we hear more.
