Some of AEW’s up-and-coming will seemingly be blocked from working WrestleMania Week this year.

With the Royal Rumble rapidly approaching, the Road to WrestleMania 41 is upon us. In recent years, the WrestleMania festivities have led to a plethora of other promotions getting in on the action and running shows of their own in the area.

For AEW, however, distancing themselves from WWE’s biggest show of the year seems to be the aim, as in today’s edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer revealed that, per a source at the independent level, AEW are not allowing their younger talent to take bookings in Las Vegas during the week of WrestleMania 41.

“According to one person involved with booking talent at the independent level, AEW younger talent are not allowed to do matches in Las Vegas over Mania week.”

How this will materialise when said week arrives remains to be seen, with Ring of Honor traditionally putting on a show of their own during the week.

Multiple promotions have already announced plans for WrestleMania Week, including GCW, Deadlock, DDT, TJPW, Marigold, Dragongate, and many more, and thus regardless of AEW’s stance on talent taking bookings, it looks set to be one of the busiest weeks on the wrestling calendar in 2025.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates AEW talent’s status for WrestleMania Week as soon as we hear more.
