‘The Rainmaker’ will soon be All Elite according to the latest reports.
Former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada’s contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling expired on January 31st. AEW are believed to have long held an interest in securing his signature, with Fightful Select confirming earlier this month that he is indeed heading to All Elite Wrestling.
Additionally, Fightful Select had previously noted that March is set to be a big month for AEW, and that appears to be ringing true as their latest report claims that
“We’re told that the company has been hoping and at least tentatively planning for Kazuchika Okada to be in the fold by the March 6 episode of Dynamite.”
-Fightful Select
AEW President Tony Khan noted on today’s media call that he’s excited for next Wednesday’s Dynamite in Atlanta. Fightful’s reported added that they’d heard discussions about Okada potentially debuting there, with numerous sources claiming that, as of mid-February, the hope was for him to have appeared by that point.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Kazuchika Okada’s future as soon as we hear more.
