The motivation behind The Elite’s reunion may have been revealed.
AEW: Full Gear on November 22 saw The Young Bucks team with Josh Alexander to defeat Kenny Omega and Jurassic Express. After the match, the Don Callis Family attacked Omega, with Callis leading The Young Bucks away with the one million dollar prize money. The pair’s better judgement soon prevailed as Matt and Nick Jackson returned to save their former ally, leading to an emotional embrace between the trio.
In today’s edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that AEW are actively trying to avoid putting Omega in long singles matches at this stage of his career, which may explain the decision to reunite him with The Young Bucks.
“They are trying to avoid putting him in a long singles match, and that may be part of the reason they put him back with the Young Bucks.”
