AEW’s roster size is reportedly leading to frustration from talent.

All Elite Wrestling undoubtedly has one of if not the most talented roster ever assemble by a professional wrestling promotion, with each year since their formation seeing a host of superstar signings, including this year’s editions of Kazuchika Okada, Will Ospreay, and Mercedes Moné to name just a few.

This is allegedly leading to frustrations from several talents, however, as in today’s edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer revealed that a lack of in-ring time and perceived upward mobility has affected the backstage camaraderie of the promotion.

“AEW went from the fun place to work with the great backstage camaraderie when WWE talent for the most part were walking on eggshells, to a place with a lot of frustration from wrestlers making a nice and even great living but not getting anywhere near the ring time nor upward mobility hoped for.”

-Dave Meltzer

Despite AEW’s five hours of weekly television, fans often point towards several stars that they feel are underutilised or underpushed, and thus, it’ll be interesting to see how AEW continues to manage their roster size and usage moving forward.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the reported frustrations within the AEW locker room as soon as we hear more.
