AEW’s exclusive window to negotiate a new deal will reportedly end soon.

Having signed a five-year media rights deal with Warner Bros. Discovery in 2019, Tony Khan and AEW have a period of exclusivity in which to strike a deal with the media company before they can negotiate with other options. Although, it now appears as if that window could be closed very shortly.

Per Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it’s believed that the period of exclusivity between AEW and WBD will end within a few weeks.

“The exclusive negotiation period with WBD is running out very soon within a few weeks.”

Previously, it had been suggested that Warner Bros. Discovery were prioritising streaming when negotiating with AEW, reportedly having strong interest in airing the company’s pay-per-views on MAX. Although, for now, an agreement is yet to be reached between the two sides.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on negotiations between AEW and WBD as soon as we hear more.
